OTHAKALMANDAPAM, MYLERIPALAYAM POST, COIMBATORE – 641 032.
1. The missionary formation enables the seminarians to become aware that the Church is essentially missionary in nature and it creates in them a deep concern for proclaiming the Gospel and witnessing to its values in areas within the diocese and outside of it, where the message of Christ has not yet been heard.
2. The seminarians are provided with an awareness, education, and appreciation of both the particular and the universal Church. They must manifest a care and concern for the “universal mission of salvation ‘to the ends of the earth’” (PO, 10) and a consequent willingness to serve where the priest is most needed (Can. 257).
3. The students are enabled to teach and support the laity in their vocation to be present in and to transform the world with the light of the Gospel, by recognizing this task of theirs and showing respect for it (PDV, 59).
