Good Shepherd Seminary is an Inter-Diocesan Major Seminary located in the diocese of Coimbatore managed by the Board of Administration which is formed by the bishops of seven dioceses. This Major Seminary is the first of its kind in Tamilnadu since it has been entirely undertaken and staffed by the diocesan clergy. It aids to prepare the candidates to become priests for the dioceses of Tamilnadu and also to be sent to the mission fields.

It has grown to this stature with the help of Propaganda Fide, Rome and still it is supported financially by Society of St. Peter, a branch of Propaganda Fide. It finds it difficult to help with full financial support as they do not get much offering from the people. Hence the Seminary finds it difficult to manage with the meagre amount getting from agencies. The Rome has cautioned to look for our own resource in the near future. Hence we are beseeching you to support us for the formation of future priests. Adoption of a seminarian for two years of philosophy and four years of theology requires a subsidy of Rs. 2,00,000/= You may partly support a candidate either annually or monthly or you may join with your friends or members of anbiams to support a candidate to become a priest. God will reward your contribution hundredfold with good health and prosperous life.
